Regions of sorrow, doleful shades, where peace [ 65 ]

Nine times the Space that measures Day and Night [ 50 ]

For those rebellious, here thir Prison ordaind

Still urges, and a fiery Deluge, fed

There the companions of his fall, orewhelmd

Both of lost happiness and lasting pain [ 55 ]

Raisd impious War in Heavn and Battel proud

Mixt with 九_九_藏_書obdurate pride and stedfast hate:

Lay vanquisht, rowling in the fiery Gulfe

To mortal men, he with his horrid crew

If he opposd; and with ambitious aim

Confounded though immortal: But his doom

O how unlike the place from whence they fell! [ 75 ]

No light, but rather darkness九_九_藏_書 visible

A Dungeon horrible, on all sides round

One next himself in power, and next in crime,

Servd onely to discover sights of woe,

The dismal Situation waste and wilde, [ 60 ]

Hurld headlong flaming from th Ethereal Skie [ 45 ]

In Adamantine Chains and penal Fire,

And rest can ne九-九-藏-書ver dwell, hope never comes

As one great Furnace flamd, yet from those flames

With vain attempt. Him the Almighty Power

As far removd from God and light of Heavn

Reservd him to more wrath; for now the thought

With hideous ruine and combustion down

With ever-burning Sulphur unconsumd:

Whｈtｔpｓ://ｒｅａd.9９cｓｗ.ｃｏmo durst defie th Omnipotent to Arms.

With Floods and Whirlwinds of tempestuous fire,

As from the Center thrice to th utmost Pole.

In utter darkness, and thir portion set

To bottomless perdition, there to dwell

He soon discerns, and weltring by his side

That comes to all; but torture without end
